Insulation retaining discs should be fitted to wall ties where partial fill insulation is used. Retaining discs should be clipped onto the wall ties in situ. Stresses the wall tie are reduced due to the ‘pinch to fit’ design. Spacing and quantity should be in accordance with BS 5628 – 1, BS 5628 -3 : 2001, Approved document A1/ 2, Section 1C and or Technical standards, Part C (Scotland). Spacing figures are stated in NHBC – chapter 6.1 September 1999 edition page 23.
